About the event
Impact Boards EM are excited to host our next exclusive Boards' Tearoom networking event at The Royal Automobile Club on Wednesday 24 June 2026, 4pm-6pm UK time.
Board evaluations should not feel like a compliance formality. When approached thoughtfully, they can become one of the most constructive conversations a board has – strengthening trust, clarifying expectations and improving performance in a very tangible way.
This Boards' Tearoom is designed as an open, informal, interactive and experience-based discussion among chairs and directors. Rather than focusing on theory, we will explore practical experience: what works, what does not, and how to turn evaluation findings into real improvements in board effectiveness. Participants are encouraged to share their perspectives and challenges in a confidential setting among peers.
Together, we will reflect on questions such as:
How can a board evaluation genuinely enhance performance rather than simply fulfil a requirement?
What should directors pay attention to when reviewing board composition, skills and dynamics?
How can sensitive findings be handled constructively?
How do we ensure that evaluation outcomes translate into action?
Our goal is to create a space for thoughtful exchange and to leave with practical insights that boards can apply immediately to strengthen governance and performance.
The event will be moderated by Impact Board EM's Co-Founder and Chair, Olga Pascault, who will be joined by speaker Oleg Shvyrkov. Oleg is a corporate governance expert with over 20 years of experience advising boards and regulators across emerging markets. He currently leads CIS operations at Sodali & Co, focusing on board effectiveness and governance advisory.
He has extensive experience conducting board evaluations, governance assessments and IPO readiness projects for major corporations, as well as advising central banks and state ownership entities on strengthening oversight frameworks. Previously, he led corporate governance advisory practices at EY and Deloitte and served as Analytical Director at Standard & Poor’s Governance Services.
