Biases can prevent board directors from making well-balanced and reasonable decisions by clouding their judgment and reinforcing preconceptions. The most common biases include confirmation bias, where directors favour  information that confirms their existing beliefs, anchoring bias, where they rely too heavily on the first piece of information they receive, and conformity bias, where a strong voice unduly influences the decision-making process. By understanding and addressing these biases, directors can improve their decision-making and foster a more collaborative boardroom environment. Participants will engage in role-playing as Chair and board members, drawing on personal experiences to practice conflict resolution strategies and improve collaboration in boardroom settings.
