About the event

Impact Boards EM are collaborating with Freshfields to bring a networking event in London on 13 February 2025 to discuss “Energy transition plans in Emerging Markets: Critical risk and success factors for company Boards”. The event is by invitation only for our members and partners driving best practices in corporate governance in Emerging Markets. Space is limited, so we encourage you to register as soon as possible.

The event will be held at Freshfields' London offices and will be followed by a Networking Session at the venue.

“Energy transition plans in Emerging Markets: Critical risk and success factors for company Boards”.

The themes to be discussed reach a multiple constituency of stakeholders in this process, such as the Boards themselves, regulators informed by international agreements and local regulatory frameworks, investors, asset owners, data and certification companies, legal and auditing professionals, EPC contractors, supply chain stakeholders, others.

The themes of the event can therefore be categorised in the following broad groupings:

  • Global and domestic frameworks defining the goalposts of this energy transition (COP, NDC’s, Funding, investors/asset owners focus, certification and enforcement).

  • Corporate adaptation strategies and their desired goals, and main risks associated with unsuccessful outcomes (stranded assets, unaffordable insurance or non insurability, uninvesteable sectors or names, cross border carbon taxes, other).

  • Sources of funding, capital structuring and risk allocation mechanisms (first loss provisions, blended finance, risk mitigation for international investors, donors’ contributions, other).

Online registration is for Impact Boards EM's subscribing members only. If you are not a subscribed member but are interested in attending this event, please email us on info@iboardsem.com
